OTIUM M8 review

OTIUM M8 review

What could you expect from clone smartphone than to look exactly like original one. Considering this section, brand China smartphone makers almost always do good job and you cant see the difference between Chinese clone and original one. OTIUM M8 is clone smartphone of HTC One M8 and looks just like its original brother. Nice, well made, sense of durability…everything is there for OTIUM M8, but what is under the hood is case by itself.
So lets begin this review of OTIUM M8 with few photos to let you see there is no difference between clone and original one.

As you can see this one is HTC One M8 in any manner, but what keeps this smartphone in life is far more different from what makes One M8 so special.

First of all, there is big 5″ screen on both models but  OTIUM has “only” HD resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. I must admit that screen look pretty nice, but isnt good as HTC’s. Processors comes from different sides of earth and OTIUM M8 is equipped with 1.3 GHz Quad-core, ARMv7 MTK6582 chipset. Mali-400 MP2 graphics chipset is just good for most of today’s activities and gives nice look for 5″ HD screen.

Considering space that is being left for user, I can say for this Chinese brand smartphone maker, isn’t enough. Meaning, at least 2 GB of RAM memory and 16 GB of ROM for this kind of clone smartphone was must option. In this case HTC One M8 makes tornado around OTIUM M8 (especially when using TD card slot where OTIUM can take up to 64GB while HTC can take 128 GB).

One thing where HTC One doesn’t stand good is camera and OTIUM gives good results with its 8MP back camera lens (interpolated up to 13MP).

Both of these smartphones have batteries with capacity of 2600 mAh that could last for almost one day of “fair” use. For this kind of price for OTIUM M8 I would like to see at least better RAM and far way faster processor. Android 4.4.2 is at home with this phone and I believe that gets user experience in new dimension.

You cant go wrong with OTIUM M8 as compared to HTC One M8 its way more cheaper (more  than 3.5 times), it is little bit lighter and has better camera (if that is the most important part of smartphone for you).
