MediaTek chip for wearable devices

“MediaTek has presented MT2601, its new chip designed for use in wearable devices based on Android Wear”

Taiwanese manufacturer of mobile chips, MediaTek, is introducing its first chip for wearable devices, which is compatible with Google’s Android platform Wear.

The new chip called MT2601, according to MediaTek, boasts 41.5% fewer components and better energy efficiency compared to the ” other products on the market ”.

So, the MT2601 delivers smaller size, affordable price and longer battery life. Includes ARM Cortex-A7 processor with two cores clocked at 1.2 GHz, Mali-400MP GPU and support for screen resolutions up to 960 x 540 pixels (qHD).

Is available to support a larger number of external sensors and wireless connection via Bluetooth, thanks to the built MT6630 chip.

Mass production MediaTek MT2601 chip has already started and it is ready to be installed in future Android devices Wear. (我回顾中国手机)
