
Lenovo has released a report for the 2014/15 financial year. The Chinese manufacturer said to increase revenues and sales, which resulted in it becoming the third largest smartphone vendor in the world. For the three-month period that ended in March of this year, revenues were $ 11.3 billion, up 21% compared with the same period a year earlier. In the first three months of 2015 Lenovo has shipped 18.7 million smartphones, tablets and Android TV, earning $ 2.8 billion.
The important contribution made and the company Motorola, which during this period has shipped 7.8 million units, up 23.6% compared with last year, and earned $ 1.8 billion. The acquisition of the American company has allowed Lenovo 40% year on year to boost sales in the Asia-Pacific region. Lenovo expects the restarted Motorola in the Chinese market will start to make a profit in the next 4-6 quarters.
For the full fiscal year, Lenovo smartphone shipments totaled 76 million units, 44.9 million of which sold in the Chinese market, while the remaining 31 million – in the rest of the world. In China, Lenovo has to compete with Xiaomi and Huawei, to combat which plans to use a new brand Shenqi. Production of the latter will be offered exclusively through online shops. If we talk about the Tablet PC, the Lenovo shipped 12 million devices, controlling at the moment 5.1% of the market.
Total revenues for the Lenovo full fiscal year amounted to 46.3 billion dollars – 20% more than in the previous year. At the same time, gross profit was $ 6.7 billion, and operating – $ 1.1 billion. In the segment of personal computers Lenovo once again shows good results, it shipped 13.6 million units and controlling 19.5% of the market.
