Meizu and Canonical, which is behind the popular Linux distribution Ubuntu, signed an agreement on strategic cooperation.

According to agreement, both companies will actively promote the new mobile operating system Meizu Flyme OS, which is based on Ubuntu Canonical Touch operating system and associated applications.

Specifications of the new devices that will use the above operating system are still secret, but it is speculated that it should be Meizu MX 4. Meizu devices containing new operating system Flyme OS should be on sale in Europe and China during the first quarter of the next year.
